[Back after a long sanity break from here - hello ladies!]
I think of myself as a considerate guy, deep on the inside, intelligent and able to think 'outside the box'. Good at the analysis of complex systems, original thinking & creativity, and operating at times with high levels of passion (the rest is maybe more of a mixed bag?). I value integrity and like to do things thoroughly if they are to be done - including spelling and punctuation!
A gentle soul and empath, who values close relationships and can give a lot of support when needed. Both tactile and sensual, I seek an intimate connection, ideally with a life-partner (but one day at a time).
My professional work has been mainly in engineering design/software; not scared of numbers, I also bring plenty of practical skills, fixing most things and small-scale building construction (with a workshop full of tools).
As a hobby musician and songwriter I like to play guitar, piano, bass, drums & vocals. Enjoy jamming or the occasional 'open-mic' event and at home, also listening to a wide variety of music from all era's.
Regularly walk in the countryside - seeing the natural world; also quite happy gardening or cooking. I try to keep healthy and have an interest in spirituality and our place in the world. Family is important to me and I have been fortunate to nurture 3 children into wonderful adults. Prefer dogs to cats but have neither. Fan of white-chocolate-and-raspberry cookies.

About his ideal match
Probably not 'just-the-same-as-me' (I've got plenty of that in my life) but definitely kind and capable perhaps with a touch of remarkable? Ideally to be sociable and adaptable - I think forming a successful 'later-life' relationship requires a lot of give-and-take, beyond that all-important 'chemistry' and attraction. Probably I most value qualities that complement mine so together we are more than the 2 apart. But I know as well there has to be plenty of shared interests as it is very important to be able to do things together.
Though I am not particularly materialistic, in my imagination you are financially stable & maybe a home owner (as I am), but other situations aren't ruled out. Chatting online is a good starting point, but meeting face-to-face will be essential before long, even if fairly low-key at first.
